Dolapo, Ms Banks, Oxlade – Interest

UK RnB sensation Dolapo is not here to play this year. Her latest single ‘Interest’ is a self- assured anthem for the ladies. This sees Dolapo team up with rising Nigerian star Oxlade, and prominent rapper, Ms Banks.

 The song takes musical inspiration from Dolapo’s Nigerian heritage  (Fela Kuti, Lagbaja, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage). ‘Interest’ is an amalgamation of  Afrobeats with Dolapo’s own UK twist.  The visuals, directed by Capone, present a mixture of Nollywood, Afro-futurism and the Fast & Furious franchise throughout the visuals.

Yas VW – Be the One

‘Be the One’ is the classic throwback song to put on during lockdown especially with Valentines day coming up!  ‘Be the One’ is an infatuating blend of sweet harmonies and ‘80s tinged R&B, capturing the early stages of love. The visuals give an Alicia Keys vibe of ‘You Don’t Know my Name‘ as Yas spots her potential lover whilst working at a Café.

Alana Soul – Moment of Time

RnB singer, Alana Soul, lives up to her soulful name with her latest track “Moment Of Time“. The track is an emotive, smooth burner where she passionately declares her love. With beautiful melodies and silky vocals how can you not fall in love with this song? The visuals showcase Alana’s sultry performance of the track. We further see her on a luxury dinner table and watch as the person she is dining with switches between herself and a mysterious lover.

Tolü Makay – You Are Enough

If anyone needed to hear a word this year, it would definitely be this one! ‘You are Enough’ is a heartfelt message from Tolu to her listeners. Motivating them to love themselves  and see that they are more than the negative messages that surround them. “You Are Enough” draws from Tolu’s Gospel roots  as her vocals rest upon a powerful base of electric guitars and organs. The song holds an important message of self love that can help warm our hearts during this pandemic.

Ruti – Sunrise

‘My Sunrise’ is the second single from Ruti, as she gets ready for the release of her EP in Spring.  The singers modern take on soul has already got her a co-sign from the artist  Tyler, The Creator on her last single ‘Closer To You’. Formerly a contestant on The Voice, this year looks like an exciting one for Ruti.
