This week I want to talk about a trend which gives serious #GirlBoss vibes – suits.
Tailored looks are becoming more popular, wearing a suit doesn’t necessarily, mean you’re in the office. You can rock a smart pair of trousers and a blazer, for pretty much any occasion. Pair a slogan tee with some trousers and the matching jacket and you get casual-cool, rather than that once 9-5 suit. With a pretty shirt, you’ve got your workwear. Chuck on some heels and you’re ready for a night on the town.
I have seen some great suit options in high street stores, making the trend far more affordable than you’d think. If you love to make a statement, you can look for a printed suit. It’s a great way to bring in colours and patterns to your look.
Neutral in colour, but vivid in the pattern, I’ve fallen in love with these trousers and the matching jacket from Missguided (Jacket £35, Trousers £25). The checked print is very on trend, and the grey gives it a neutral sophisticated feel.
If patterns aren’t your thing, why not go for a brighter shade? This fuschia pink co-ord from Topshop (Jacket £39, Trousers £40) will turn heads, and with the combination of the sleek silhouette, you’ll look flawless!
If this is a style which is quite new to you, you can always opt for something plainer, while you test the waters. The great thing about getting a tailored pair of trousers and a matching blazer is you have the option to wear them separately too, for the days where you want those suited vibes but want to tone it down slightly.
High-end co-ods are always an option, and spending a little more you’re more likely to get the perfect fit. If your budget is a little higher, why not go with a classic navy suit? It’s a fail-safe option, which you can go back to year after year. If that’s the case, this Reiss set (Jacket £230, Trousers £125) would be a great pick!
Suits are a classic, whether wearing them in the office or out on the town, you’re sure to look like the powerful woman you are!
