FOOD:
We visited Chai Wu to try out their new menu, Nature’s Finest. The menu has so many mouthwatering choices, that the greed can really get the better of you, but we have saved you the hassle by letting you know what you must order here.
For starters we had the wagyu puffs, dim sum platter and Harrods special sushi roll. The wagyu puffs melt like gold dust in your mouth – they are a charming starter. The dim sum platter is another appetising starter, that we greatly enjoyed.

The Harrods special roll is to die for. You must order this!

For our main, we paired a portion of the seafood noodles with Nature’s Finest stir-fried Mongolian veal steak, the Korean lobster, tiger prawn and half Beijing duck (which can be enjoyed in a variety of ways – duck fried rice & pancakes). We’d really recommend everything we ate, but highly recommend the duck fried rice and the Korean lobster. The Korean lobster was dulcet and just delicious.

The Sommelier recommended a beautiful Italian wine called Primitivo di Manduria Riserva ’62 Anniversario’ 2013 San Marzano – a robust and delightful wine, that was easy on the palette. Paired well with all of the dishes.
If you can fit in dessert, you must try their green tea chocolate fondant. It is gooey goodness!

OVERALL:
Although pricey, we will go as far to say it is one of the best Chinese restaurants we have visited in London! The food is sublime and all the recommendations were topnotch. There wasn’t one things we didn’t enjoy, which says a lot.
The service was professional, friendly and relaxed for a fine dining establishment.
The place itself is small but this adds to the cosiness. The dim lighting makes it quite intimate.
It is a truly high end meal, but the prices are reflective of the quality and ingredients of their food. This is certainly a restaurant if you’re feeling to treat yourself or impress a client.
Ideal for: Lunch, dinner and quiet sanctuary
