We have the most unique festive menus from Turkey raan to a whole Christmas dinner made up of crisps and dips.
How about Christmas dinner in the form of dips and crisps? Hipchips are offering a special ‘Christmas Dinner Box,’ comprised of four varieties of handcrafted, heritage crisps paired with sweet and savoury dips. Smoked salmon and pickled cucumbers to start, a traditional turkey dinner for main and a sweet Christmas pudding and brandy sauce dip to finish off your festive feasting.
Transport yourself to the Highlands for wee treat. Scottish restaurant Mac and Wild are offering a three course Christmas menu at £35pp. The menu features a Christmas burger (a venison patty, pork stuffing, Morangie brie, red cabbage and sprout tops) and a brined and roasted partridge with a pear and walnut dressing and dirty buttery mash. We’re getting even more nontraditional with the Christmas menus from Som Saa. Experience some Thai flavour with Som Saa’s Sharing menu for £35 and Feasting menu for £45. Diners can feast on gaeng mussaman pbet (duck leg curry with quince) or nahm dtok pla thort (whole deep fried seabass with roasted rice and herbs). Have a gander at the menus here.
Peruvian restaurant Ceviche is bringing a taste of Exotica to London with music and performances inspired by Peru’s exotica movement. Offering sharing feasts at both their locations, priced at either £38 or £50. Dishes included will be the seared Lancashire woodland squab pigeon with squash and quinoa risotto, roasted squash purée and guava fruit sauce, and Palmitos (avocado cannelloni with chia seeds gelée, charapita chilli and amarillo chilli tiger’s milk).
Join the revolution at Wahaca this Christmas. Mexican street food restaurant group are calling for a revolution and “protesting” against the traditional Christmas dinner with their “Rebellion Banquets” and “Revolutionist’s Feasts” available for £30 or £25. Featuring “tacos not turkey” and churros for your Christmas pudding. Join the revolution here.
Café Murano have three festive menus for groups of eight or more, ranging from £53pp for three courses and £70pp for five. Feast on this very Italian “family style” menu which includes dishes like cicchetti of truffle arancini and a buttermilk panna cotta with poached rhubarb. Bombay café Dishoom is bringing large groups together with a Christmas feast that’s to be shared. Inspired by the Bohra tradition where the community gathers around a large Thaal. With three menus starting from £30, each include the turkey raan with all the trimmings (whole turkey leg cooked slowly over the course of the day -in the raan style and served with bombay potatoes, masala winter greens and a spiced cranberry chutney).
