UE Awards

What a night!|

The UK Entertainment Awards was nothing short of amazing! Another year where the platform successfully recognised and celebrated up and coming talent in the industry.

It all started with a message from the organisers asking me (little old me!) to present the Best Comedian Category on behalf of Amor Magazine and UKGrime. To say I was ecstatic was an understatement!  We had been watching the voting polls and nominees and this year’s nominees had some really exciting names involved, so I accepted the invite as soon as I received it.

The UE Awards was held at the plush Marriot West India Quays and was hosted by Comedy on the Wall’s very own Yung Filly. Now, if you have been active on social media and like us, follow the Comedy on the Wall’s page, you would be familiar with Yung Filly’s work. He’s most famous for his ‘Awkward Questions’ segment where he interviews people on the street, at events and festivals and asks them…well, awkward questions. Here’s one of our favourites.

Yung Filly definitely brought the energy and comedy on stage and kept the crowd lively and energised! Nush Cope from Comedy on the Wall was also there to do red carpet interviews looking ever beautiful and glam!

The night opened with a medley of songs from different genres and some very talented groups of people closed by Tracey Campbell who blew away the crowd with her power and soul.

Jack Matthew also took part in interviewing the guests and gave the Yung Filly a taste of his own medicine for his channel ‘Back With Jack’

Past performers like Lottie touched the stage again, this year with a medley of Garage classics that had the crowd singing along and ‘gun finger skanking’ and MC Bushkin also performed again, with a medley of Grime Classics. The night was full of energy and good spirits and we definitely had a lot of fun!
