The Yellow Dress

The Yellow Dress

While the LBD will always be a staple piece, this summer it’s time for change and a little-yellow-dress is just the thing you need to make your wardrobe pop.
It’s time to stop fearing the bold and bright colour and embrace yellow in your everyday look.
So if you haven’t already got on board with the vibrant trend, what are you waiting for?

And let’s face it, there’s no better way to channel your inner Belle from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ than slipping on a sunny number this season.

Become Chic

The SS17 catwalk shows confirmed that now is the time to start being colour confident.

From mustard yellows to eye-popping sunflower shades, yellow dresses have been increasingly spotted on both the runway and red carpets this year.

New York Fashion Week saw the likes of Gucci and Chloe parade the colour down their catwalks.

And it’s definitely made it’s way into star-studded events too.

Emily Rajatowksi showed us how it’s done at this year’s Golden Globes, opting for a silky yellow-gold Reem Acra dress with a plunge neckline when attending Netflix’s after party.

But it’s not just formalwear that works the trend.

Emma Stone proved in ‘La La Land’ that a yellow tea dress is the only accessory we need to get us through the warmer months.

Fashion bloggers alike have been embracing the feel-good shade too, showing it’s perfect for street style.

And from Zara to Topshop, the high street is full of bright alternatives to your usual black and grey buys.

While it may have once been seen as a sickly and unflattering colour, it is actually the ideal shade to bring out your natural tan and summery glow.

It’s definitely time to reconsider the previously daunting look.

So if there’s only one thing you invest in this summer, why not step out of your comfort zone and dare to go yellow?
