Thai Square has many restaurants across London and we visited their Covent Garden venue a couple weeks ago to try their Platinum set menu.
The menu features deep fried stewed aromatic duck in herbs, accompanied with steamed pancakes, cucumber and spring onions, served with Hoisin sauce. Our personal favourite! You can never go wrong with duck pancakes. The duck was cooked well and wasn’t too dry.
Our recommendation for the main on this menu would be the Weeping Tiger. The chargrilled marinated sirloin of beef with fragrant chilli sauce was very tasty. A strong dish on the menu for that authentic Thai flavour.
To finish our meal, we had a pleasant fruit salad with coconut ice cream.
The food here is enjoyable. Even the design of restaurant is pleasing to the eye, with a mix of contemporary and traditional Thai design. Featuring Thai artefacts and even a faux pagoda roofing.
The atmosphere is relaxed but it is a great place for big groups, as it seats 190.
We had a charming evening here. The service was pleasant and the food was brought out in a timely manner. We even managed to have a break in between meals.
Ideal for: Date night and pre-theatre dinner.
