Flock Review

Flock

Address: 105A Minories, EC3N
flockbeyond.com
Tw: @flockbeyond
Cuisine: Cafe

FOOD:

Their tagline is “coffee + beyond” and if you’re wondering what the beyond refers to, then you’ll have to go inside to find out. More than just your typical coffee shop, Flock’s offering ranges from burgers to craft beer. It’s not just for the morning coffee dwellers, but those in seek of lunch or after work drinks. Nestled under Tower Gateway railway, you can find refuge here on one of London’s many rainy days. The intrigue got the better of us and we popped in to see what the beyond was for ourselves.

Visiting for brunch, we were given two menus – their breakfast and all-day menu. We hadn’t had breakfast yet, so we thought, why not get a stack of three pancakes to start, drizzled with some syrup and topped with the sweetest blackberries.

Taking our attention to their all-day menu, we opted for the veggie melt and the hanger steak. Out of the two, we’d recommend the hanger steak, as it was complimented by a lovely béarnaise sauce.

OVERALL:

Flock is a coffee shop with a twist. The go “beyond” your normal coffee shop experience and offer more than just coffee. With that in mind, their coffee is of top quality and a lot of care goes into making it. Their humble settings allows you to view as they make the coffee. Offering an all day service that includes breakfast, brunch and lunch – there’s something to suit everyone.

The decor has been well thought out and there is a running theme throughout, from the cage-like ceiling shade to the amazing artwork on the back wall.

Flock also provides a space for meetings, with a TV that you can show presentations on. If that isn’t an innovative coffee shop, then I don’t know what is.

I could not fault the service at Flock. Anything we asked for was accommodated to, especially making us spicy mayo to go with our sweet potato fries – it’s a must that I have this!

Ideal for: A bit of everything! Including space for business meetings and after work drinks.
