Looking for females to watch at Festivals this summer? Amor Magazine have compiled a list of female artists and DJ’s you can watch at some of your favourite festivals this summer.

Friday 1st June

Headliner the Queen of Soul, American Singer/Songwriter Erykah Badu.

Clara Amfo –  A dynamic young broadcaster who can currently be heard on Radio 1. Starting out her radio career at KISS FM UK.

Mahalia –  The intoxicating British neo-soul singer made a huge impression this year with her song ‘Sober’.

Nubya Garcia – Is a London-based saxophonist and composer who is bringing the popularity of Jazz back onto the music scene.

Au/Ra – Is an Ibiza- born singer raised in Antigua with an eclectic sound, check out her latest video ‘Panic Room’ here

Avalon Emerson (DJ) – If you are into contemporary dance music, house and techno, this set will be the one for you!

Peggy Gou (DJ) – A Berlin based Korean artist whose sets feature dance and electronic tracks.

Tini Gessler (DJ) – Her sets comprise of deep/ tech-house.

 

Sunday 10th June

Annie Mac (DJ) – A BBC Radio 1 DJ, a household name and television presenter, expect to hear electronic and dance mixes in her set.

Kelela – An Ethiopian American singer and songwriter who’s music draws on alternative R&B and Electro Pop she has recently been making waves on the UK music scene you can watch  her here.

Lauren Lane (DJ)– An LA based DJ whose set comprises of house music.

Mabel – A rising star in 2018 the London based pop & R&B singer is known for hits such as ‘Finders Keepers‘. You can watch her latest video here.

Nicola Bear (DJ) –  ‘Is the cool sound of Ibiza Rocks’  and has an eclectic set of indie, hip-hop and dubstep.

Nina Kraviz (DJ)– Russian DJ, music producer and singer whose sets include Techno, Electronica, Acid House and Tech Trance.

Shanti Celeste (DJ)– Chilean DJ from Bristol. Her music style is associated with House, Electronic, and Techno.

Anii (DJ) – A rising producer and DJ  her sets comprise of deep, dark, and ethereal techno.

Anz (DJ) – The 26-year-old DJ and  grime producer has  a residency on NTS Radio.

B.Traits (DJ) –  A producer, DJ and radio presenter currently holding a slot on BBC Radio 1. She bridges underground music from techno to jungle to house.

Donna Leakes (DJ)–  Her sets have been described as music for open ears, open minds, open hearts and zero expectations.

Emily Dust (DJ) – Her unique sets encompass dancehall, Brazilian neo-baile, Bristol bass, Angolan kuduro, grime and South African gqom

Flohio – Flohio AKA Funmi Ohiosumah is a British Nigerian rapper from Bermondsey you can check her out here.

Gnarly (DJ) – A London based female Producer and DJ creating genre-bending future beats drawing influences from jazz, funk, hip hop, r’n’b and neo-soul.

Nadia Ksaiba(DJ)- Her DJ style includes a nuanced mix of disco, boogie, proto-house, techno, Italo, minimal wave post-punk, acid and party jams that pump the heart of electronic music.

Naina (DJ) – Is a 26-year-old DJ and Presenter based in Brixton, South London. Running on Reprezent 107.3FM for over 4 years.

Raw Silk (DJ) – 2 South London DJ’s who celebrate the fabulousness, freeness and naughtiness of the disco past and present.

Sophia Thakur –  A Spoken word poet who has performed at numerous global campaigns for the likes of BET, Samsung and Channel 4.  You can see her latest poem here.
