Today I want to talk about a trend which throws the fashion rules out of the window.
Prints. I know everyone loves a printed shirt with a pair of jeans or a plain skater dress with a little pattern on your shoes – but what about mixing up the prints, pairing different patterns, and contrasting colours together?
I’m sure we’ve all heard a thousand times before, “Blue and Green should never be seen” “Don’t mix your prints, one is enough” “You don’t want your outfit to look too busy” “Keep it simple” – but why?
There have been so many times that I’ve been feeling creative with my outfit in the morning, so I’ve thrown on all of the prints, and all of the colour – looked in the mirror, and thought ‘yes, this outfit looks amazing’. And then changed into something which I felt less great in because to make sure to abide by the fashion rules.
Luckily, this rule breaking trend seems to be catching on. This fashion ‘rule’ not longers needs to be followed. We are becoming braver with our outfits, the busier, the better.
I’m noticing girls, and guys becoming more adventurous with mixing prints and colours – and it’s really about time. Seriously throw the rulebook out of the window, and wear what you want to wear. You’ll feel good, you’ll look amazing, and you’ll capture attention.
You want to wear leopard print, you wear it. and if you want to wear Aztec print too, go for it. Your favourite band tee to go with it, great, throw in a bit of floral while you’re at it too, why the heck not?
If you’re not quite brave enough yet, your shoes are a great place to start – pick up some leopard heels (I love these ones for £59 https://goo.gl/baL3cz). And slowly begin adding in other printed pieces that take your fancy.
People every time I see someone rocking more patterns than I can count, I can’t help but admire the style they’ve created and their confidence wearing it.
