This morning at 11am, the BBC released a list of the those working within the company earning over £150k a year. The results found that the majority of high wage earners were white males including the top 6 who all fall into this category.
Topping the list of high wage earners is Chris Evans with a staggering £2.2m, followed behind is Gary Lineker who takes home £1.7m before tax.

Out of the top 10 only 2 females can be found, these are Claudia Winkleman who earns £450k and Alex Jones who earns £400k.
None in the top 10 came from an ethnic minority background, and only 10% of the entire list released came from this background.

When interviewed about the salary release and the issue of pay gaps, BBC director general Tony Hall said “We’re making big strides…but we have a lot to do”.
